Frequently asked questions

Short answers to the most common questions about the calculator above.

Is the password generator random?

Yes. It uses the browser crypto API to sample characters, which is more appropriate than plain Math.random for password generation.

Can I exclude confusing characters?

Yes. Enable the ambiguous character filter to remove lookalike characters such as 0, O, 1, l, and I.

Does the site store generated passwords?

No. Passwords are created locally in your browser and are not sent to HandyUtils servers.

What length should I choose?

Longer is generally better. For most modern accounts, 16 characters or more with mixed character types is a strong default.

Generate Strong Passwords Without Leaving the Browser

This password generator creates random passwords locally using the browser crypto API. That means you can produce strong credentials for personal accounts, work systems, or temporary access without relying on a remote password service.

You can control the exact length, include or exclude symbols, numbers, and letter case, and remove ambiguous characters when readability matters. Bulk generation is also useful when you need several passwords at once for onboarding, testing, or account rotation.

Useful for Security Hygiene and Daily Admin Work

Weak, reused, or predictable passwords are still one of the most common security failures. A focused random password tool helps you create unique credentials quickly enough that there is no reason to fall back to guessable patterns.

Because the output stays on your device unless you copy it elsewhere, this tool fits privacy-conscious workflows. Pair it with a password manager and you have a simple, practical way to improve account security across the board.
